3. How far do you need to go

So you can begin reporting? Do you have or have access to an ATV, a dirtbike? Something like that? Is there NO way out from where you are?

5. I can get out, just not near the slide

I tried the backroad off the mountain, it comes out about 2kms from the site.

But they even shut that down. I assume because the last 15 minutes is a 400 foot decent on the side of the sliding mountain.

I'm no pansy let me through, I'll sign the fucking waver!

6. OK I was under the impression you were unable to get out.

But since that's not the case :evilgrin: Couple things you might :clears throat: try..heh heh.
First, make up some official looking tag using your computer, like a media pass or something. Try and talk your way in a little closer, you are a reporter fer gosh sakes. Sometimes they let media in a little closer than they would ooh-aah'ers. What ever official you run into, sweet talk em, tell em you'll put their name in your story.

Or, you could get in big trouble for this, instead of a media pass make up a geological officials pass. You're there to survey and assess the situation ;-) Dress "official" looking. :evilgrin:

7. The highway is block FAR away from the slide

Then with traffic even further, I'd have to go around the wrong side of the road for about a half hour of driving before I even get to the blockage.

So, I'm here.

I actualyl know all the guys at the site...but wouldn't be able to speak to an official because it'd be about a 50 k walk!
