Listening to the first album by Montrose.
Whether you like Sammy Hagar or not. This is some good shit by any standard.

2. I actually liked Sammy back then.
Saw them live several times from 72-77. They kicked ass!

3. When did you stop liking Sammy?
When he joined Van Halen?

4. Yes!
Van Halen is not Van Halen without Diamond Dave. Plus Sammy is a freepish shithead.

6. yeah, what he said!
Montrose was a damn good album. Still have it on vinyl. Haven't listened to it in a while because of how much Hagar disgusts me anymore :puke:

8. I can understand your feelings about Hagar.
Especially with Politics and his own line of tequila. Not to mention that Van Halen was not as good with him. "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" came closest to their former glory with Roth but still. But this album transcends all that. It is a forgotten gem of a great time for rock music and should not be ignored. This album makes me feel alive. Whenever I listen to it, I feel alive. It is incredible.

7. Is that the one with Bad Motor Scooter?
For my money, that IS the first Heavy Metal album ever. Just awesome from start to finish--true wild-sex-in-the-back-of-the-Chevelle music. Try it sometime.

(Chevelle and sex partner not included.)
