I may go back to work.. I am conflicted...
I can name my hours...I would have my own office...I would be making less(13.00 an hour) than before I went on vacation in 1996 (I was making 16.75 an hour )(and never went back), but I am really thinking about doing it..

Told him I would let him know after I get back from Laughlin this weekend...and I would not want to start until mid September..

I just have a bad feeling that ..it starts with 2 or 3 days a week, and pretty soon, it's 5 days..

Laziness is a virtue that I have come to enjoy, and I hate the though tof feeling like I should be at work ...doing something, instead of lounging around the house :)

DEVELOPING.....

1. so do 2 or 3 days a week... and if they want you to do more...
tell em to sit on it and spin... that is unless of course you end up wanting more.

btw what part time job pays 13 an hour? hook me up yo!

4. It's up to you
You can always change your mind. Let us know how this turns out. You have a real contribution to make, but this has to be your choice. You know that DU will support you, whatever your decision.

5. It seems that you are comfortable enough that you don't need to go back to
work if you really don't want to. I suppose the question is
1) is the cost of giving up your freedom to do as you please worth the
$13/hr. that you will be paid for it?

2) are you giving up your freedom because you are bored and are looking for something to do?

3) are you wanting to feel productive again?

If your decision does not have to be based on economic need -- choose that which makes your heart happy...even if it is going back to work but you would be doing it because YOU WANT not because YOU HAVE to.

Anyhow, whatever you decide, GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

6. He's my friend, and he's in a bind
so he asked me.. I want to help him, but I know ME.. I can be a workaholic and get "too involved" in the job.. I "bring work home with me"..

I will just wait til I get back from my "GAMBLE-FEST 2004"...and then decide..

I am heading for Laughlin on Thursday :):)YAY!!!

7. IF
you add up the COST of supporting your job. The cost of "work" clothes, lunches out, transportation, state, local and federal taxes, etc etc you are probably really only making a couple of bucks an hour.......why bother?

I'd stick with that gambling thing.

8. I am in a similar situation
I have been voluntarily unemployed now for almost a year. Although I am not always very productive I am peaceful and happy. I like being able to do what I want when I want it (within financial confines) but there is something to be said about having structure and the daily human contact outside of ones family that work provides.

My other thought is that given todays economy would it be better for someone who needs the work to financially survive have the job?--Yet on the other hand it would be good to put your salary into your retirement fund or save up for a knock-out vacation.

Toss a coin. I wouldn't know what to do.
