on the death of a friend
i live in ohio, and own a trailer on pine island, fla. i have been spending the winter there for four years. during this time i established a great friendship with a "full time" resident. he looks after my property when i'm gone and we talk on the phone periodically. we talked about charley on friday last, and he told me he was going to ride out the storm in his trailer. the eye-wall of the hurricane went over pine island where we live, and i was extremely worried about him. the next morning he called and informed me of damage to my trailer, then said he had to go get a generator, and would call me later. he didn't call and i thought he was too busy. on sunday morning i received a call from another acquaintance that he had died during the night from carbon monoxide poisoning. i don't know why i'm posting this bad news, maybe as a tribute to this kind, generous man. last winter, when one of his friends died, he used most of his savings to pay for the funeral, because, as he put it,"her family has no money." he treated everybody he knew the same generous way, and i sorely miss him already.

4. So sorry to hear it gpandas :(
It's always sad when one of the good guys leaves us.

I've known a few people like your friend, and it seems like we always lose them too early.
