Who else reads comic books?
And if you do, which ones?

Right now I read:

Y: THE LAST MAN - Kind of like "Preacher" meets "The Stand", minus all the men. And it has lines like this: "Are they terrorists?" "Worse. Republicans."

SUPREME POWER - Like "Watchmen", but more modern and with boobs.

PUNISHER - Now with profanity and graphic violence!

SUPERMAN - Cause I'm a sucker for anything drawn by Jim Lee.

EX MACHINA - A really cool comic where the mayor of New York has superpowers. It sounds dumb, but it's not.

ULTIMATE MARVEL - I loves me some good superhero stories, and they don't come much better than this.

So yeah, I'm a huge dork for still reading comics, but it's like the Beastie Boys say: "If you don't like it, then, Hey, fuck you."}(

1. The teachers that I know use them to help literacy.
They swear by them. Case in point: Using "Maus" and Elie Wiesel's Night in a unit on the Holocaust.

2. I used to read them a lot
all through the 70s and 80s. However, I stopped cold-turkey in the early 90s when my comic habit started getting too expensive... odd, when I was in college and had no income & little money, I rarely worried about it. But, then getting out of college and having a regular paycheck made me start budgeting things.

However, Spidey is my long-time favorite. I liked X-Men, Fantastic 4 and a few others. I followed some DC titles around the Dark Knight era for a few years as well.

3. currently reading "Wanted,"
...thanks to a tip from Kephra on this very same board...

And generally keeping up with whatever Alan Moore is doing... and just had another look at "V for Vendetta" -- a more necessary comic now than when it was released? -- for the first time in many moons...
