If you're selling it for $19.99, doesn't that make it a $19.99 value?

(Putting aside the obvious fact it's most likely crap and worth about three-fitty. :P:D)

1. You had it right the second time . . .
Costs probably three fiddy to make, they still make a profit even with the ad at 20 bucks (plus the profit from the shipping mark-up), but they normally rip off the customer at $59.99.

2. There is a lawsuit against QVC
illegal to post unrealistic "value" prices.

3. Its the hook.
I heard an interveiew with Ed Mcman. He explained the whole Biz. Thats how he started. It was so funny. There are always willing buyers and they are happy with the purchase.

Perhaps when friends and family diss the purchase the hyped "value" can rescue the suckers pride.

just what i thought.

4. The "value" is whatever people are willing to pay.
The "worth" is probably on the flaccid side of $1.00.

5. My wife does this all the time.
"Look Honey, see this shirt? It's normally $39.95...I bought it on sale for $14.99, isn't that great?" Sure, but that was probably the real selling to begin with.
