1. Especially when it's done against your will.

5. Don't laugh...
My mom sewed my mittens to my jacket becuase I kept losing them. On a warm March day, I didn't wear my mittens (this was in kindergarten) and let them hang.

Got off the school bus, one mitten got caught while the door was closing and the bus dragged me about 50 feet before I stopped, dropped and rolled, and the bus ran over my arm, breaking both bones.

Geesh, 25 years later, I still cringe at that thought. After earning two degrees, working a stint as a butcher and dressing up as a team mascot, I must say that story gets the ravest reviews!

7. Since I don't have children
I don't keep up with all the latest things that kids use today. But I remember way back when--when I was a kid they had these suspender like things that you would put through the sleeves of your coat or jacket and each end had a clip on it where you clipped your gloves or mittens. My sisters and I all had them and so did most of the kids I knew. Or some of them would have big safety pins attached to the sleeves!
