Town Won't Issue Vibrator & Marital Aid Store License
<snip>

Lovers Lane is ready to put out the lingerie, exotic massage oils and maybe a few vibrators, but the village of Shorewood seems to have a headache.

At least that's how attorneys for Lovers Lane & Co. portray village officials, who they claim brushed them off for more than six weeks without issuing a business license.

Lovers Lane, which specializes in lingerie, gag sex gifts and "marital aids," filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday asking a judge to force Shorewood to issue a license that would allow the store to open for business.

Wayne Giampietro, attorney for Lovers Lane, believes Shorewood is trying to block Lovers Lane from opening because the village doesn't like its sassy product line.

"This is not a store that sells raunchy adult stuff," Giampietro said. "It is as legal to sell all those things as it is to sell milk and bread and cookies."
