LynneSin Lyrical Confession
When I was a kid (around 4th grade), I wouldn't go to sleep until I played this song on one of those crap ass box cassette players kids had back in the late 70's. When the tape broke, I cried for days and had problems sleeping. Ironcially today I still suffer from insomina. Was it the magic of this Dan Hill song?

You ask me if I love you and I choke on my reply
I'd rather hurt you honestly than mislead you with a lie
And who am I to judge you on what you say or do
I'm only just beginning to see the real you
And sometimes when we touch
the honesty's too much and I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you till I die
till we both break down and cry
I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

Romance and all its strategy leaves me battling with my pride
But through the insecurity some tenderness survives
I'm just another writer, still trapped within my truths
A hesitant prize fighter still trapped within my youth

And sometimes when we touch
the honesty's too much and I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you till I die
till we both break down and cry
I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

At times I'd like to break you and drive you to your knees
At times I'd like to break through and hold you endlessly
At times I understand you and I know how hard you've tried
I've watch while love commands you
and I've watched love pass you by
At times I think we're drifters, still searching for a friend
A brother or a sister, but then the passion flares again

And sometimes when we touch
the honesty's too much and I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you till I die
till we both break down and cry
I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

16. Yeah, I know, that album is actually still pretty cool
It reminds me of a happier, simpler time in my life. Watching (and loving) Almost Famous made me want to go dig it up, only to find that my husband had sold it (or given it away), so I bought it on CD. It was the first LP I ever bought; I was about 4 at the time. :hi:

19. He had some killer albums during that period...
"Tumbleweed Connection" is another one. Very stoney 70's rock flavored stuff. "Madman" is a great album. I really like Holiday Inn off it.

That was before he went down that bland adult pop road in the 80's.

13. Thats OK
when I was in 4th grade I adored Air Supply and Barry Manilow...I sang Babs "I am a woman in love" like I meant it. I still have a soft spot for some of these things.
