2. Well, shit... when I saw this last night on CNN... there was no audio.
Quite a different effect. Unfreakingbelievable. They interviewed one of the officers afterward who was all full of himself about performing his duty to keep peace. Glad to see that the local news at least aired the audio and seemed a bit more sympathetic to the VICTIM.

3. Man...
What is wrong with cops in this country? Now before some of you ex-law enforcement folks start flaming me, I know all cops aren't bad. I even have cops as friends. But there's an attitude among the American police force as a whole that scares me. It's a kind of let's go kick some ass attitude instead of let's go protect the public. It scares me. And it's getting worse, not better.

I have been in situations where I've had to restrain drunk people way more violent than that man by myself, and I never needed a fucking taser gun to do it. This is bullshit, whichever way you slice it. There were numerous cops there and one distraught man. They did not need a taser gun. Inexcusable.

5. Was that his gun?
Edited on Wed Aug-18-04 06:52 PM by Downtown Hound
I couldn't tell. I wasn't sure if it was his gun or he was holding his hands out. If it was, what complete and total coward. Ooh, I'm so afraid a little crowd I need to pull my gun on them. Chickenshit bastard! Unprofessional, unnecessary, and un-American. Pisses me off!

7. It was either a TASER or a Firearm...
If the latter, that looked like brandishing and bad judgement.

What was he gonna do if someone walked toward him?

6. You can't just let civilians walk around in a disaster area...
some psycho might come up and taser them.
