Why did Family Guy just pull a Futurama-style joke?
The teacher was teaching Helen Keller binary language. Having her recite 01101001 and cheering "01! 01!" when Helen murmured it out.

1. Did they edit the Bush reference in the 8 PM show?
I only saw the tail end of the 8 PM show where Joe has lost his confidence after losing a perp. I was wondering if they left in the pep talk where Peter makes numerous references to Bush's TANG service?

2. I missed that ep (have it on DVD anyway), but that was a GREAT line!
If they left it on the DVD, I'm sure they left it for re-broadcast.

Hey, the Simpsons finale was a big bush-slap too, so they'll surely let the numerous references stay. :D

3. Perhaps.

Maybe -- I also missed the beginning of the episode, but would that be the part where Peter keeps mentioning a person whose name I missed not giving up after arrests for various drunken acts? If so, it's there.

4. Yep thats it
Peter is trying to convince Joe to not give up on life, it goes something like this:

Did GWB give up when he arrested at a football game? NO!
Did GWB give up when he knocked up that chick in Texas? No!
and so on.....

8. ANOTHER EDIT!!!!!
During the current episode Brian is doing a musical number where he lays cards out on a table while asking how the world will end. On the DVD the fourth card is GWB with a beer bong----but in tonights version it was replaced with a Jerry Springer card.

Fox--what friggin pussies.

11. Oh--LOL--a beer bong? Is that what that is?
I can't believe I didn't know that! :hippie:

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw that blatant censorship--Faux, home of the Bush-lickers!

7. They also edited the orginal of Brian's song of the future!!! WTF?
When he is putting out the tarot cards, and showing the possible end of the world, the original cards showed a nuclear bomb, a volcano, a tidal wave, and George W. Bush, holding a hose and a martini glass.

Tonight, the Bush card was changed to a Jerry Springer card!

What the fuck???

9. was it ever shown on fox with bush?
From what I've gathered from about five seconds of Google "research", it was never shown with the Bush card on FOX. I could be wrong, though.

45. Brian Wallows and Peter's Swallows

gs: Patrick Warburton (Joe) Adam West (Mayor Adam West) A.J. Benza (Host)

When Brian finds the dating scene unbearable, he drowns his loneliness in alcohol and gets arrested for drunk driving. A court judge sentences him to care for a cranky elderly woman who winds up being the love of Brian's life. Meanwhile, Peter grows a beard which becomes a nest for endangered birds. Peter ends up not being able to remove the birds from his beard because it is illegal.

b: 17-Jan-2002 pc: 3ACX03 w: Allison Adler d: Dan Povenmire

NOTE: Ratings: 3.4/5
While this was not the SOURCE of the episode's material, CBC Radio One ran a segment on its show As it Happens about a man named Grant Griffen who's apartment in Florida was overrun with bats that he could not have exterminated or removed because they were endangered. This story ran June 27, 2002, long after this episode was ever written or aired, but it sure is a cute bit of irony that a man with nearly the same name has a real life problem like this.
Episode won an Emmy for its musical number.
During the musical number on the FOX version, one of the tarot cards was changed from George W. Bush to Jerry Springer. Also the World Trade Center towers were digitally removed after 9/11 (the same reason why the George W. Bush tarot card was changed to Jerry Springer). Both of these deleted parts have been shown on Cartoon Network.
In the Canadian version of this ep the infamous taort card shows GW Bush drinking out of a beer bong so: US FOX VERSION: Tarot Card is The Jerry Springer Show CANADA(and possibly UK): Card is GW BUSH
