Things like: It's a 100 degree day, high humidity. You're at the park and there is a beer vendor there, cold beer on ice cheap, a buck an ice cold pitcher. The Miss America Contestant Volleyball team is there having played a volleyball tournament in their bikinis. They're finished playing now, they're hot and thirsty. They'll share a beer with anyone who can buy them one. And me without a cent.

26. Been there recently...

going to have a spiral perm done (2 to 3 hours total for the uninitiated), only to discover after my hair is soaking wet in a sink with formula on it that the radio station is set to the Christian station. AAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

The hairdresser is a fundie, and I can't say anything or I'll end up bald!

(Fortunately I kept my mouth shut and my hair turned out great-- but I won't be going back)

Thick & Spicy Yak Chili

• 2 lb yak burger
• 1/2 green pepper (chopped)
• 1 onion (chopped)
• 2 T chili powder
• 1 T celery salt
• 1 can green chiles chopped
• 1 can (15oz) black beans
• 1 can (15oz) kidney beans
• 1 can (15oz) butter beans
• 2 C V-8 juice

Brown the yak burger adding the chopped onion towards the end of the browning. Add all the ingredients together in a large pot on your stove. Bring to a simmer and let the flavors blend together. Its ready to serve immediately or keep it warm and the flavors will continue to blend for a delicious and hearty soup that can be served all day long.
