Can the Amish be drafted?
If the draft is brought back will the government be able to draft the young adults from the Amish communities?

6. Concientious objectors
A conscientious objector is one who is opposed to serving in the armed forces and/or bearing arms on the grounds of moral or religious principles.

13. I believe they can
I think they did it that way in 'Nam, possibly in WW2 as well.

From this web sight: http://www.sss.gov/FSconsobj.htm

"The person whose beliefs allow him to serve in the military but in a noncombatant capacity will serve in the Armed Forces but will not be assigned training or duties that include using weapons."

7. since it is rumored that college deferments
will no longer apply if the draft is reinstated on June 15,05, I've often wondered if the Amish and Quakers, both traditionally granted immunity from the draft, would no longer be able to do so.

12. I'm pretty sure that

the military wouldn't really want them. There's just no way they could be made into good soldiers.
