I posted earlier about a pair of boots I saw in a Kenneth Cole ad. They are very nice boots. You can see them in the ad below. They are in the fourth photo in the top row:
Anyway, I couldn't find the boots at the Kenneth Cole store in my city and I didn't see them on the website, except in this ad. I contacted the Kenneth Cole company to ask if and when the boots might be available and I got this response:
We're sorry, but the item(s) you are inquiring about were only made for
a fashion shoot and are used as an image piece. It was never actually
put into production and can not be purchased. We photograph much of the
merchandise months in advance and do produce some of the items. We
apologize for the inconvenience. So, apparently Kenneth Cole will go to the trouble of photographing stuff and putting it in ads when it's not actually for sale and might not even exist. It's just an "image piece". So, if Kenneth Coles "image" isn't strictly dependent upon merchandise that they actually sell maybe I don't have to buy any of their stuff to capture the Kenneth Cole "image". Maybe I'll just stand outside their store now and then and absorb their "image" through osmosis. I'm SO annoyed. Can you tell?
