Mozilla question
where is the history file and how do you clear it.
Where are the cookies to clear.

Just thinking of IE and you have to clear things to speed it up. How do you do that with Mozilla?????

3. Edit... Preferences
Under Navigator you will find History, and a button to Clear History.
Under Privacy is Cookies, and a button for Cookie Manager.
And under Advanced is Cache, and a button to Clear Cache.

7. Well, yeah...
that's what cookies are for.

If your system is slow, and you can hear the hard drive thrashing around a lot when you're trying to do stuff, you will probably benefit from two things:

1) More memory (memory is pretty cheap, too)
2) Defragmenting your hard drive

While it's a good idea to clear out the junk from Mozilla and/or IE, you may have more significant issues to deal with.

9. Gosh with 512 MB memory you should be fine there.
A disk defrag will probably help some - but if you're on dial-up, you're going to be hard-pressed to get any better performance Internet-wise. Was IE faster on your dial-up connection? If so, you may not want to clear out the history and cache files in Mozilla - the more you have stuck away in there the less your browser (IE or Mozilla) will have to download again.

4. Under "Tools" select "Options"
and then when the Options window comes up, on the left there are choices. Click "Privacy". That should do it.
