Patterson Completes Sweep Of All-Around Golds For USA

ATHENS, Greece -- The United States completed an improbable sweep in gymnastics Thursday night as Carly Patterson won the women's all- around gold medal.

Patterson became the first women's all-around gold medal winner for the U.S. since Mary Lou Retton in 1984, and won gold just one night after Paul Hamm captured the men's all-around with a thrilling comeback.

making the olympics is a significant achievement. more than ill ever be able to say for myself. they all deserve congratulations regardless if they medal or not, (but a special Way to Go to those that did)

and dang-it carly... accomplishing such a thing at a such young age makes me feel like a slacker.
