Since everyone else has their theory about who will win the 2004 election, I'm tossing out my own.

Whenever a major (cat 3 ror higher) hurricane hits Florida in an election year, a Democrat is elected president.

1944 - (unnamed) Category 3 hits Sarasota, FDR elected
1948 - (unnamed) Category 3 hits Naples, Truman elected
1960 - (Donna) Category 4 hits Sarasota, Kennedy elected
1992 - (Andrew) Category 5 hits Miami, Clinton elected

2004 - (Charley) Category 4 hits Tampa, ????? elected

Weird, I know. But I thought it was a funny little factoid.

And for those of you who will claim "Hurricane Gordon hit Florida in 2000 and Bush was elected..." Well, we could debate whether or not Bush was legitimately *elected*, but for the purpose of this argument, by the time Gordon actually HIT Florida, it had been downgraded to a Tropical Storm... so this *predictor* still holds for the Dems...
