I've had migraines four days in a row
For that matter, I've been having migraines almost continually since the beginning of August.

I don't know what's causing it.

Yes, I'm under stress but that's nothing new - I'm always under stress.

I've had my usual amounts of caffeine and alcohol - no news there.

1. I had two in the last week.
And hadn't had one since last December!

2. I've noticed that humidity affects me
When the humidity is high, they bother me more. Or perhaps it's air pressure. At any rate, I find that changes in the weather sometimes trigger them.

I sometimes get some relief with a hot bath or putting a warm (never cold - that just agravates it) compress on my head and laying in a dark and quiet room.

I hate the damn things - been getting them for about 20 years now. Do you take any prescription meds for them? I've had good luck with Zomig.

3. I Started Going Through a Spell Like That
a couple of months ago. Not acutally migraines but the precursors every day or two. Don't know what broke it. I started taking Verapamil, which is a daily pill supposed to ward off migraines, but it made me so sleepy I stopped the pills after a week.

In my case, regular exercise seems to help. Also, if you get desperate, acupuncture may work. It's very good at manipulating blood flow, which is definitely part of the picture.

4. Sorry to hear that.
I get them too and they seem to come all at once then disappear for months. They are called cluster headaches. Makes you want to writhe in pain. Got my sympathies. There are meds, I have resisted them since by the time I think of getting an appointment they have ceased. I find that a heating pad on the head helps, quiet and dim lighting. Drink water, alcohol can make things worse and smoking.

6. Tiger Balm around your eyes relieves the pressure
Makes your eyes water and relieves the stress. I get migraines all the time, due to injured neck muscle. Use heating pad around whoulders and neck, too. Alternate with heat and ice at base of your neck.
Stop caffeine if you can. Since I gave it up, migraines are not as severe.
The minute you feel one coming, put that Tiger Balm around your eyes, on your brow, etc. Nips those suckers in the bud.
I feel for you.

7. Don't think they're cluster headaches

  • bright and loud things intolerable
  • runny nose
  • nausea
  • see auras
  • intense pain on one side only (usually right)

12. Yes, those are the symptoms
one eye tears up too. And things smell different. Sometimes a odor can set them off.

5. I can certainly sympathize....
I had one 4 days in a row once and thought I'd DIE!! I ended up going back to a neurologist here in Nashville who specializes in migraines and he put me on 25 mg of Nortriptyline. That was about 3 months ago and haven't had one since.

Before that 4 consecutive day incident, I took Maxalt at the onset of my migraines which works great, but 4 days in row was more than I could stand.

9. Certain Foods Can Be Involved In Migraines....
sometimes things like pizza, canned soups, some beans....etc. Usually foods that are highly processed. I don't get them often...but when I do, an Imitrex injection almost always knocks them out.

10. I suffer from chronic migrane...
I found out around the age of 13 that drinking coffee regularly keeps the migraines away. This is actually due to the caffeine. You will now find many migraine meds. have caffeine in them for that reason.

11. I get them too
Sorry you're suffering, those things are awful. But FOUR days now? You must have some kind of pain tolerance, I couldn't handle it for that long plus there is no way I could look at a computer screen during a migraine attack. Hell I can't function at all. They suck I know. I'm glad I don't suffer debilitaing attacks very often or as severely as I use to. Now at the first hint of a migraine a couple excedrin is all it takes to stave off those head-bangers. Plus that is also my body telling me that I need to flush-out my system of toxic build up.

I'm sure you are familiar with the conventional ways to try and remedy migraines, pain pills, ice packs, dark & quiet rooms, chiropractic ajustments, etc. But have you ever tried drinking a lot of extra water? It helps to flush the system out, dilutes and flushes away toxins that may have built up causing a chronic headache. And I'm serious here, laugh if ya want, but go poop. As much as you can. Take an herbal suppliment or something but get those toxins that are just sitting in your gut reabsorbing back into your system, out of your system. You just may be amazed at the result. I was.
