Bye Bye DU!
In 24 short hours I will be on my way to China. Ill be teaching English to kids in the Guizhou province. I hope to get back on to DU once Im settled in but you never know: this is probably the kind of website the chinese bureaucrats DONT want me visiting! ;) I have taken care of my absentee ballot and Im cant wait to see Bush sent back to Texas!

Hope everybody has a safe and fruitful year. :hi: Zai jian!

25. Chinese typically only say "ni hao"
Or, if in a hurry, it's "ni ha"

if asking of somebody, they ask "Alec hao ma" (Alec good, yes or no?)

9. The best of luck in your endeavors
Sounds very interesting, and will keep our fingers crossed for your safe trip and your new way of life. It's great that you've voted by absentee ballot. I'd like to see Bush sent right over to Leavenworth,
Kansas, and all of his buddies too.

13. Geez man. Good luck
I dont think I could live in a country where the primary language wasn't English. It'd be so stressful.

15. dude
this is gonna as close to stress free as i can get. No bills, no deadlines, no phone calls, no taxes, etc. Ill be paid to live in the lush mountains of southern china & talk to little kids. The beer is cheap and plentiful, beautiful women are everywhere (and they dig Americans!), teachers are respected. Oh, did I mention the month and a half of paid vacation? Ah China....

be a real humanbeing to all the "beautiful women". They are not candies in a dish. Hope you make us proud.

Or, 'take care' in Mandarin. I'm going for 2 weeks in September. First of many trips, I suspect.

Watch out for those Chinese women - "da shi qing, ma shi ai" - is something they live by. ;=)
