Quicktime / Netscape problem. Any techies out there?
For some reason, my browser always locks up for a few minutes when I click on a Quicktime link. Never seems to be an issue with Real (ugh) or WMP links, but QT gives me fits. What the hell is causing this? I think I have the latest free QT updates loaded. Is it because I'm using Netscape?

1. Have you tried restarting your computer?

That's always their solution for every problem. One of the guys has earned the nickname "Reboot Bob". No. That doesn't do anything. I get locked up on QT links for about 5 minutes (a DSL eternity!) every time.

3. Don't rule out an intentional "bug" in Windows
Bill Gates has intentionally done this to RealPlayer, and you are using two non-Microsoft products.

I'll look for a fix if that appears to be the case. There's probably a work-around for that somewhere on a techie-site. /Off to Google!

save the link address and play it in the stand alone player. Mine freezes up (a lot, not always) in Opera, and IE.

8. Can't really help you, but
get rid of Netscape. It is a spy-ware enriched Mozilla version IMHO worse than IE. Use Mozilla or Mozilla Firebird instead: www.mozilla.org . :hi:

9. My Netscape is finely tuned.
I had a code-master of a friend supe it up for me and get rid of the junk. I alternate between it and Opera.
