JM's Daddy Day Extravaganza #1 - Lenape Indian Powwow
Edited on Sat Aug-21-04 04:22 PM by JM
Every once in a while my wife $ (Ka-Ching) has to work the entire weekend, and JM gets to play solo dad and do something cool with the boys. This is one of those weekends.

So this AM I get online to see what events are happening around the area, and lo and behold, there is a Lenape Indian Powwow in Saltsburg, about 30 miles away.

I have never been to a powwow, but this was pretty cool. They had music, dancers, and booths set up with all sorts of Lenape craft. My boys were pretty impressed, and J wants to start looking everything up on the internet about them. I asked one of the vendors if this was typical, and he said it was pretty small, but there is a big one coming up in Harrisburg in two weeks.

Later,
JM, aka Dances With Laptop

1. Cool!
I took my grandson to a pow wow about a year ago; he was 3. He wanted to join the dancers, and when I made him stay outside the straw bales they'd marked the area with, he danced there, all by himself.

That, by the way, is the best screen name I can remember, even if it isn't "official."

Go join DU again with it, quick, before someone usurps it!

2. Thanks!
I thought of it just as I was typing and figured since I am a programming geek, it was appropriate for the post.

As for a username, I wouldn't want to have that permanently, funny as it is.
