trof's Self-Service Neighborhood Pub is: OPEN
Sorry, got an injured hand, so it's self-service.
All the fixins is over there on the bar. Got a new icemaker, so I don't think y'all will run out like last time.

Miz t. made the nachos and the smoked salmon dip.
Roasted the peanuts myself. Just throw the shells on the floor. Dookus will sweep out later. Nice of him to volunteer.

Got ol' Garrison Keillor and Prairie Home Companion on the radio, so try and keep the jukebox down a little.

Would somebody mind fixing me a Scotch and soda?
Thanks. Y'all are too kind to an old man.

Ther's a tip box on the bar, if you think you did a really good job for yourself. We'll just split 'em at the end of the night.

Enjoy yourselves, and HAPPY SATURDAY!
:toast:

10. Hey, thanks a lot havocmom.
Recharging a seltzer bottle and it exploded in my hand a week ago. Posted about it here a couple of times, so won't take up the space.
Get the stitches out Monday.

14. Serves ya right for drinking that horrid Scotch & soda
Stick with Irish Whiskey, straight up, and stuff like that never happens!

Seriously, sorry I missed your accident report and hope you are mending well. I know what a hassle it is having your hand outta commission. I had to spend 6 weeks holding my right hand on top of my head to assure a surgery healed properly. I looked really silly and was pretty helpless. Did get a lot of odd people waving back at me though.

It's a silver 121-proof rum from Nicaragua. If you like rum, you'll fall in love with it. It name means 'flower/bloom of the cane'.

16. Question:
If you get virtually sh*tfaced in a virtual bar, does someone have to virtually drive you home and do you have a virtual hangover the next day?

Just asking.
;-)

Edited on Sat Aug-21-04 06:03 PM by trof
then you will know that I am absolutely away with the fairies.
I'm actually a pretty good dancer, but the spirit doesn't move until I am well into my cups. Then I can jitterbug, bop, waltz, two-step, whatever like a sunuvabitch.

"I won't dance, dont' ask me."

26. I'd like a wee drop of Irish also....
But Jameson's please. Bushmills is made in Northern Ireland. And as a good republican (the Irish type, mind you) I must drink with political correctness.

Do you need another scotch and soda, trof? And which scotch is your favorite poison?

27. I understand about Bushmills vs Jameson's.
Used to fly with some Irish (prods and papists) who set me straight.
BTW, these guys got along great.
My favorite Scotch is whatever is available, thanks.
Used to be a Johhny Walker fan, but they priced themselves out of my budget.
Lately it's been 100 Pipers.
Scothch snobs will whip on me now.
Bottom line...I never met Scotch I didn't like.
Like the Irish too, either one.

31. Ah...rounds are over again. Now I can really kick back.
My "medical rounds" aren't over until Ace-the-cat has his insulin shot and I take my cholesterol and blood pressure meds.
And the bilberry for the eyes and the chondroitin-glucosomine-MSM fer the jernts.

This stuff works, for me anyway.
Night vision had really suffered, as it tends to with age. I'm 63 (tomorrow, YAY!). Bilberry has helped quite a bit.
The C-G-MSM has made a hell of a difference with the arthritis in me knees.

OK, back to the drinkin'!
