1. that's in reference to a guy who attended at shrub speech
and asked I guess a tough question. The tickets to attend were given to him by one of his employer's clients. The client complained to the employer that it embarrassed him, and the guy was fired.

5. I didn['t hear what the question was, but the story was on CNN
today.

On another thread about this, I said that I feel sorry for the guy, but you NEVER pi** off a good customer. I suspect nothing would have happened if he haden't gotten his ticket from a customer of the company he worked for. I know my employers would have fired me for anything I did that could have cost him any sales.

I don't like it, but that's really the way it is.

2. I voted yes...
because our country's Constitution allows freedom of speech; an employer has no right to fire someone for speaking his opinion. For decades, Democratic candidates have had to endure heckling by Republican plants; nobody knows it better than Dubya, who requires a signed pledge of support just to hear him speak at his campaign rallies.

Freedom of speech still applies in our country; there should be no reason to fear losing one's job by stating one's opinion.

10. I couldn't get fired for what I do outside of work.
The Union would not allow it and the lawsuit would be huge.

12. whoa! THEOBJECTOR WORKS FOR A TAX-SUPPORTED ENTITY
"The client was a public relations worker who represents the Berkeley County school district, he said. "It's just bizarre that you disagree with them and it all turns evil," Hiller said."

whoa! the objector to the activity was an employee of a publically held entity, a school district? the rally was is a public school?

i could see if the client was a guy who worked for an entity that ended in 'co.' or 'inc.' or 'llc.' etc, BUT A PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT?

http://www.greatschools.net/cgi-bin/wv/district_profile/2/

sounds to me a pr guy who works for a public school district needs to lose a job....
