Are you lactose intolerant?
I am. I can eat aged cheeses and yogurt all day long, but not milk or ice cream.

4. See...I can eat cheese...just not milk or ice cream.
I LOVE cheese.

Aged extra sharp cheddar and havarti (and feta and swiss and gouda and moz and parmesan) are my favorites.

7. I miss cheese
I used to be able to eat it, even after I started having problems with lactose, but now I can't tolerate more than a bite.

I can eat yogurt and frozen yogurt, but not ice cream unless it's lactose-free. (I can't drink lactose-free milk though. Maybe it's not lactose-free enough?)

6. I'm very lactose intolerant. Dairy products give
me enough gas to open up a Shell station.

8. I just found out I am
when I made a protein shake with skim milk. I got some lactose-free milk and it's okay. Also, taking Lactaid works. I found out a lot about it by googling. Yogurt is okay but skim milk is the worst and the protein in those powders is usually whey protein, so I was getting a real double-whammy! I learned that it generally gets worse as you get older and that it helps to limit how much dairy you have at once; ie, one glass of milk may be okay but two puts you into gastric distress.

A chiropractor told me years ago that humans are the only mammals who consume dairy products and that it's "not natural." Maybe but I scream for ice cream! :9

13. Yep
It didn't hit me until I was 29 either. I'm ok for any dairy if I take the lactase enzyme supplements (like Lactaid).
