...because my left wrist is totally messed up. It just came out of nowhere at about 8pm -- and I didn't do anything more strenuous with it today than lift a slice of pizza to my mouth. It's not too terribly painful if I leave my wrist in a specific position, but moving it even just a little from that position hurts like hell, as does holding it in any position other than the aforementioned specific position.

Any DU docs (irresponsible speculators and bad jokesters are also encouraged to chime in) have a freakin' clue what's up with this shit? It should be mentioned that I play guitar, but haven't so much as touched one since Thursday.

4. Sounds like you strained it and it goes into spasm when you move it.

I had something like that happen to my neck. I could keep it still but if I tried to move it oh fuck. Of course, I'm not a doctor or whatever but I'd go see one because if it's that they can give you muscle relaxers and get it out of spasm quite easily.
