What is BBC America like?
I'm getting digital cable next week. Among other reasons, I'm hoping to expand the number of news channels I can get, to provide me with some refuge from our American corporate news media. What is the deal with BBC America? What is their news coverage like?

1. BBC America is just replays of British and Canadian Shows..
No news. But they just started running episodes of "Trailer Park Boys", the funniest show on TV, so it's worth it just for that..

4. Jesus, "Trailer Park Boys" on BBC?! Poor Alister Cooke would have died!
Wow.

BBC America also airs some of the better British mysteries, and "Manchild", which is my favourite show, and has been called a "Sex in the City for useless, bourgeois, middle-aged men", which fits me like a Speedo.

5. I've been telling my friends back in the US about TPB for 2 years..
and told them to get BBC America just for the show! Apparently they bleep out the profanity, which of course means there's 3 minutes od dialouge left;)

2. The only have 30 minutes a day of news on weekdays, none
on the weekend. It's just your straight BBC news without any bias
or commentary. It's more an entertainment channel.
