Bands who hate people.
Lenard Skynard comes to my mind.

There were in the city very recently.

When the crowd looked unethusiastic, the lead singer just about had a tantrum. (sorry Lenny, you're not as hot as you think you are, even for a washed up hick.)

It also brought in the dregs of society:

* One man punched his wife hard in the nose.
* In a crowd of 80,000 there were 78,998 whites. Given the actions of many of them, I'm surprised that the remaining two stuck around at all.
* Lots of skinheads around
* One chap was happily waving a large confederate flag
* Lots of 'people' were discarding beer cans and booze bottles into peoples' and making a terrible ruckus.
* There were hardly any police, we should be grateful that the lady who got punched got assisted,

Next year they should reduce the amount of cops in half and bring in Eminem. :eyes:

2. Throw in the Nuge and you can have a KKK rally

The Nuge is from Detroit, Michigan. I assure you that confederate flag of his is for hate not heritage.

19. Not to worry...one day Nuge will be giving an interview...
...about gun ownership and say the reason we have so much gun violence is cause we have mixed ethnicity in this country.

4. Metallica comes to mind...
We refer to them as Old Greedy Balding Bastards. Without their fans they wouldn't have anything. But yet the spit in the faces of their fans with the hole Napster thing. You learn that an artist is more about money than the music when they really give a shit about P2P on the internet. The artists who are truly about the music tell their fans to trade it on the internet. God, I hate Lars Ulrich soo much. Dipshit. Does he not realize how fucking greedy he looks?
UGH

11. Metallica sold their fans out long before Napster.
Two words: Black Album. Good bye Metal, hello commercial radio. Disgusting.

10. I love their music, but the few times I've seen them
The Smashing Pumpkins had a major attitude towards the audience. Oasis is another one.

15. John Lydon, Jesus and Mary Chain, Ian McCullough, New Order, Fear
I saw PiL three times in the 80s, and each time, ydon walked off stage eraly after telling off the audience for spitting at him. I don't blame him.

Jesus and Mary Chain started a fight with some fans in Toronto when I saw them.

The original Echo and the Bunnymen's Ian McCullough is, by all accounts, a complete bastard, and he walked off when I saw them in '83.

New Order don't even acknowledge their audience.

Ever see "Decline of Western Civilization"? If Fear don't hate their audience, I don't know who does. And when I saw them reformed a few years ago, I got the impression they hated their audience so much they refused to practice, and only performed for a lacklustre :40.

16. Ever hear the tapes of Buddy Rich chewing out his band?
"I can get an LA band here in 24 hours! Don't think I won't do it!" What an asshole.

Who was the big band leader who had such complete contempt for the audience he quit music? Artie Shaw?

17. I've got 4 of those Buddy Rich tapes...
They're a scream! Yeah, he was really being an asshole to his young pick-up players, and this was during the '70s when most of them had long hair and represented "hippies" to the old-school master. It's sad, in a way, because Buddy's kind of musicianship and discipline was not a part of the young musician's ethos at that time. And Buddy had to know the days of being able to keep a band like his on the road were coming to an end.

18. I'll probably get hammered for this
but my impression of Bob Dylan was that he has no use whatsoever for his audience. The first time I saw him he was so drunk that he nearly fell off the stage and was slurring his words terribly. I gave him another chance a couple of years later and he kept his back to the audience the entire time, and never once stopped to talk. I then said screw him, if he wants to be a dick, then I just won't pay to see him, nor will I buy any of his recordings. Just the opposite was Jackson Browne who loved exchanges with audience and actually-gasp- played requests!
