Anyone have an RCA Lyra RD2780 Audio/Video Jukebox?

I need advice. I'm told it will record live TV shows, but I'm having trouble with that (it says it detects no video signal). We have DISH Network; should that matter? We also use a Radio Shack room-to-room wireless receiver so we can watch TV in the kitchen. There are two sets of audio/video inputs on the TV, neither of which is being used (the satellite receiver connects to the wireless receiver). Any techies know how I can rig this up to record TV so I won't have to return it? Thank you in advance!

MY DVDs...I should be able to with them what I want.
