How's life going for you?
How is life going for you?
What is going well?
What are you doing as a hobby?
What are you lacking now?
What do you enjoy?
What weirds you out?

Me:

- Life is going really well--the realization came out of nowhere, it's really a shock.
- My job is going incredibly well... almost unreal.
- I'm learning how to cook, in both the Chinese and French manners.
- I need to find some time to get me a woman.
- I love going into NYC and seeing friends, drinking, talking trash, and gallavanting away.
- Sometimes when I have nothing to do and I'm by myself, I get incredibly restless and upset. It's as though when I'm alone, I am totally incapable of relaxing. The only time I come close to relaxing alone is when I'm reading for 30 minutes before bed. It's nutty.

1. I just bought a new house soooo beautiful I am waiting for the REAL
owner to show up and kick me out. I grew up on the lower Eastside of Detroit...where walking to school was a real danger.

2. Life is going pretty good for me
I've got a decent job and I just bought a house.

My only hobby is DUing if you consider that a hobby.

I'm lacking in friends because I work six days a week and I'm a loner anyway. I'm not the type to have a lot of friends but a few more than zero would be nice.

I enjoy drinking beer, listening to heavy metal and surfing the web. Usually at the same time.

My brain weirds me out sometimes because sometimes the strangest thoughts will occur to me and I have no idea where they came from.

3. Hi!
How is life going for you?

Very well, but kind of surreal with the baby coming and all.

What is going well?

I've had 2 jobs for the past 5 years. I just got a massive promotion at one job, so I put in notice at the other. After my maternity leave I will only have one job and will make more $ than when I had 2 jobs before. I kind of need the money now, but at least I know it's coming.

What are you doing as a hobby?

Nothing lately. Too busy.

What are you lacking now?

Sleep, a breast pump, a changing table/dresser combo, and enough money to pay rent during my unpaid maternity leave.

What do you enjoy?

Feeling my baby move inside me, listening to my husband sing the songs he writes about me, days when I can linger in bed, getting the baby's room ready, and some X-rated things that we're still way into even tho I'm 8 1/2 months along. (We rule!)

What weirds you out?

Some of the regulars at the community center where I still work for another couple weeks. They are hard to describe, but that place would make a good reality show.

11. Congrats on the baby!
As a Mom of twin 18 yrs olds, I strongly encourage you to live each & every day with your child as if it were your last. They grow up so fast and there is never enough time to hug them and tell them how much you love them! The rewards of that are untold!

10. Generally ...
How is life going for you?

I'm broke!

What is going well?

My family loves me

Both boys (twins) start college this month; one living at home; one living w/in 30 miles. They are on military scholarships that is picking up the worst of the costs, but it is absolutely freaking unreal the costs associated with college.

I like my job; not necessarily those in charge.

I love my pets and as long as I keep the food bowl full, they seem to love me.

What are you doing as a hobby?

Listenting to music; Du'ing and fighting to get my country back!

What are you lacking now?

Sleep; balanced checkbook; clean house

What do you enjoy?

Music; music; music. My family; my pets; DU.

What weirds you out?

Bush & Co and as well as those devoted "morans" that think Bush is
wonderful.

12. Bizarrely.
My life is really fuckin' strange at this moment, and it shows no sign of becoming normal any time soon.

That's fine by me. I'm looking forward to it. :D

13. Not bad, thanks for asking.
I'm doing all right, though I wish I could get out more.

You know what I've been studying? The Vice Presidency of the United States. Now how much of a nut must one be to study what John Adams
called one of the most "insignificant" offices in the world? Well, I am!

Other than that, reading weird news stories from MATCOM is nice.

16. Good bad and ugly
Gotta have my gall bladder out. Pfui!

But meantime I've signed up for an online art class to learn to use the latest version of Expression software. MS bought it from the developer and so the proggie is free. A good thing!

I'm joining the local rec center and will swim, swim and swim some more. Can hardly wait till my bathing suit arrives - I think. Hope I ordered the right size!

What weirds me out is the fleeting concern that the shrub might steal the election. So I just keep plugging away, donating and talking up Kerry and the Dem agenda. Otherwise, life in my retirement is pretty damned great!

Good luck with your Chinese cooking! It's never boring.

17. I've had better years.
How is life going for you?
What is going well?
What are you doing as a hobby?
What are you lacking now?
What do you enjoy?
What weirds you out?

Life just goes--not well--but it goes. I am working after a year of being at home, and I am back in government (property taxes) again. My boss is a flaming asswipe who is too stupid to live--but not evil--just dumb as hell. I am under constant stress and I hate the hours. I can't quit, and I will not be finding anything anytime soon with the level of salary and benefits...

On the plus side, my Dad is recovering from his heart surgery and my Mom is recovering from her kidney surgery. My kid is wonderful and headed back to school later this week--second grade with a teacher that is said to be WAY better than the old bitch last year.

My husband is running for office and his campaign seems to be going well enough. In some ways I think he's better off to not win simply because I sure as hell wouldn't want the job he's running for.

My biggest hobby seems to be survival these days. The muscle spasms on one half of my face are doing better--they seem like the B vitamin complex is making them relax a bit. (Yet another thing that is looking up, I guess.)

Right now, I'd say the only thing I really lack is any sense of personal optimism for my short term future. This is the first time in my life I've ever been in a job that I wanted to leave within 90 days of beginning it.

Right now, I enjoy hiding out on DU and maybe grabbing a few hours of sleep when I finally do fall down at night.

The one thing that really weirds me out is the idea that maybe it will never GET any better than it is right now. What IF this is the best it's gonna get for a long time?

Sorry gang--I know a lot of others are in worse shape than I am--but I'm just not happy and I have no idea what it is gonna take to climb out. I know I am blessed with family and friends--but I am dammed if I can make sense of all that is happening to me.

My mantra of late has been, "This too shall pass."

19. Things are looking up.
At least, that's what I choose to believe.

I'm not sure what's going "well;" but there are things that aren't going badly. They are "ok" for the moment. My finances are ok. I have a home.

What am I doing as a hobby...I don't really think of it as a hobby; it's what I do for therapy and enjoyment; I spend time with my horses.

What am I lacking? Support for my profession; people I trust in my personal life; physical health. The job I needed to move out of a place I don't like this summer.

What do I enjoy? Good music, good food, good books, gardening, my horses, wide open spaces, silence, rain, thunder, sitting on rocks, walking in forests, standing on top of mountains, good conversation. Hot tubs and massages. The company of my dogs and cat.

What weirds me out? People who get off on aggression or violence.
