3. Sorry to hear that
I hope you can afford to get yourself a new engine or a new car. It's sucks being without wheels. I've got to put mine in the shop here pretty soon, but luckily I can get someone to loan me a vehicle.

6. There are other alternatives
Or perhaps you can do something for the environment and ride the bus. Isn't it about time we all start thinking about alternative methods of transportation? Every gallon of gas you buy goes to Bush-Haliburton-Saudi pockets.

7. speaking of
The other day I saw a guy riding a bike down the street. It was a busy street and he was outfitted with headgear and even a bright florescent orange vest. On the vest he had stencilled: "one less car."

14. My friend revised his "one less car" sticker to reflect his situation:
"carless one".

8. Welcome to DU, SilentHillFanatic.
While using public transportation may work well for people living in cities, it's not possible for people who have to travel a ways to take care of life's essentials such as myself. I do try and do my part by driving a fuel effecient vehicle though.

12. Get another one at Goodwill or Salvation Army
They have donated vehicles you can pick up for a coulples $100. My husband works for the one in Sarasota. We just bought an 89 Ford Escort 5 speed with 37,000 miles on it. Runs rough, but hasn't broke down yet. Paid $300.
There are several other organizations that sell donated cars, too.
Just a suggestion.

18. I didn't see any actual damage - so I think it just siezed
The oil light went on last night (I usually get it changed regularily, but haven't in a while) I decided I'd wait until I got home to get it done.... then after a steep climb. .. it just went.

That's the cost of going to school - you gotta pay it back. But this, this came outta nowhere.
