Poll question: Who had the best hit single called FIRE?
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 07:41 PM by NightTrain
For the uninitiated, these are three completely different songs with the same title.

4. The Boss's live cover of the Pointer Sisters' "Fire"
It was on his big box set in the 80's ... great song.

9. Actually, it's Springsteen's song.
He wrote it -- the Pointer Sisters covered it.

11. Well, color me corrected! I had no idea ...
I always wondered why it sounded so damn good when he sang it ... it just seemed to be a natural fit for him. Now I know why. :)

12. Hey, for years I said I liked his cover
of Patti Smith's 'Because The Night,' and only found out a few months ago that he co-wrote the song with Patti. I know the feeling!

15. Damn ... 2 in one night! Thanks!
I've never been more than a casual Springsteen fan, though I do consider "Thunder Road" to be one of the best songs of all time. I love finding out stuff I didn't know. I'm going to have to look into what other songs he's written for others.

18. Both 'Blinded By The Light'
and '(I Came) For You' were covered by Mannfred Mann's Earth Band back in the seventies. I think there were other Springsteen songs they did, too, though none was any more successful than 'Blinded By The Light.'

24. BTN should have been on the Darkness album
a live version he does from dec 14(?), 1978 at the winterland in oakland is the best version of the song you would ever hear. i have the show on tape somewhere a round the house. it was a great show that night, i was 23 and my mom actually got me my ticket as a christmas present.
