Cybersex Part Of A Day At The Office
<snip>

OFFICE workers are turning in to "cyber slackers", spending their working days forwarding sexually explicit e-mails or looking up porn.

A survey of company computer technicians found the 9-to-5 misuse of the internet had increased dramatically in recent years.

Recruitment firm Talent2 said three quarters of surveyed technicians, who keep companies on-line, reported porn sites and sex messages were cutting productivity.

"Wasting time and slacking off at work is not a new phenomenon," Talent2's Craig Sneesby said. "However, the internet has provided a subtle way of 'cyber' slacking."

More than 54 per cent of employees surveyed said they had been caught in the act of using work computers to surf non-work related websites. Thirty-one per cent said sexually explicit websites and forwarding inappropriate e-mails were the most popular time wasters.

Screw "productivity".

You have CEO's who make hundreds of millions of dollars then they sound like Sgt. Schultz when they're caught screwing the public: "I know NOTHING!!!! I'm JUST the CEO, I'm not supposed to know what's going on in my company!"

They "Right-size" the work force by getting rid of half your co-workers then demanding that the ones left take up the slack and even put out MORE "Y'know, there's people out there who'd LOVE to work 70 hours a week for 45 kilobucks..."

We're not as stupid as the evil HR Directors think we are. Yeah, it's probably passive-agressive, but what do you expect when you see people getting 3X the pay for half the work? Oh, they work, those meetings are VERY "important"! Sometimes can't get shit done because I need a descision from a higher-up who's in a "meeting", so what am I supposed to do?

Treat the help fairly and give them a TRUE sense of ownership in their jobs and you'll see the productivity and morale improve. until then, you'll see "The beatings will continue until the morale improves" signs in the cubes and people will fuck-off shopping and chatting.
