is making me REALLY want to smoke. I knew he was a Republican, but I didn't think he was a stupid fucking Republican! I'm even breaking out in hives.

13. Lean on DU, they'll support you (us).
Right now I might not have enough strength to support you, but DU is a wonderful anti-smoking support group.

Love to you!

The guy with the masterful lyrics to "Only Women Bleed"

Please, say it isn't so

12. I started to feel better after the third day
the problem is that I'm also dealing with toothaches without any meds for the pain, so I'm constantly reaching for something that isn't there. I don't have a job right now, so I've given my keys to my mom. I'll make it through it, but I wasn't pissed off before. Now I just want to smoke and be pissed off.

4. Listen to "Billion Dollar Babies"
It will take your mind off of your troubles. And forget that he existed after 1974.

I find that album to be very cathartic. :hi:

10. I'll just listen to one of the artists that Cooper made fun of-- Manson
Manson said once that he'd vote Republican, but that was when it was a Gore ticket and he was fucking joking. He made a point in saying that his music did better under Republican gov'ts because the more conservatives attacked him, the better his cds sold. Also check him out in "Bowling...". Also remember Tipper Gore was one of the primary people leading the attack against lyrics. MM may hate Gore, but his later work (Holy Wood anyone?) has shown he hates conservatives more.

But Cooper? Ahhh fuck...he's just sold out a part of my pre-teen years.

6. What's with that shit, huh?
That's really pissing me off, seeing as I was in kind of an Alice Cooper-listening mood recently.

That, and reading Vincent Gallo's interview in the New Yourk Times Magazine yesterday have really put me in a sour mood. "I see Nixon as an intellectual, whereas I see Clinton as a huckster......" This schmuck is kidding, right?

11. It must be something to do with golf
The only pure form of golf is putt-putt. Real golf seems to warp your mind to the right. (joking, of course)

Alice Cooper, Hootie and the Blowfish, post-SST J. Mascis......

9. Congrats...
If you're doing it cold-turkey... then you're WELL BEYOND the period where you have actual *physical cravings* for nicotine. Any desire to smoke at this point is just psychological. You recall the pleasant and relaxing feeling from smoking and when stressed, your instant reflex is to reach for a cigarette.

Just breathe deeply a few times and the urge will pass. (It sounds silly, but here's what I used to do: I'd purse my lips as though I were holding a cigarette. Then I'd inhale through that little hole as deeply as I could. Next, I'd exhale slowly blowing the air through my pursed lips. --- Yes, it looks silly too and I seldom did that exercise in front of anyone, but it helped me to relax and get beyond the desire to light up. Just a minute or two is all it takes for the desire to go away.)

GOOD LUCK!!! KEEP GOING!!!!

-- Allen

17. in 89, I taped a "Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam"
Guy in a trench coat comes out, whips it off and it's Ted Nugent.

As the years roll on, it makes more and more sense.

I wonder if Alice ever told Charlie Daniels (pretty much a one-HIT crossover wonder) or Ted Nugent to F off politically . . .
