No poop for you! Zoo Doo lottery canceled

Oh, pooh!

That's what hundreds of eager Seattle gardeners can say this fall when they have to go without Zoo Doo, the prized product of pachyderms and other Woodland Park Zoo animals lovingly laid down twice a year to enrich garden soil.

The zoo's Fall Fecal Fest lottery for the deservedly desired doo is being canceled because of contamination of the compost by a weed killer.

For those who didn't grow up in an agricultural community:

People buy sections of a football field where a cow might potentially 'drop a load'. When the cow finally does, the person who bought the spot where the cow made gets a prize or part of the money or whatever.

It USED TO BE used as a fundraiser around here. But no more... the fine govt. of AR in their infinite wisdom has decided it's gambling.

Just thought this was an appropriate place for another fecal story.
