I like the Doggett episodes of the X-files
I know that the common wisdom is that the X=files jumped the shark long befpre the end, but, watching them in reruns, I really like the Doggett episodes. He's a great character played by a great actor. I hope that the reruns watched more objectively (without constantly looking for Mulder) will show that these were good episodes. I also like Agent Reyes. I think they missed a chance at an X-files--Next Generation with those two.

Is there going to be a movie?

1. I read an interview with Duchovney a month or so ago and
he said there was talk of another movie and that he was all for it.

2. Scully / Mulder fan here!
Their relationship was important to the series.

I am also hoping for a new movie...heard they have all signed on.

3. I liked Doggett and Reyes too...
they should have continued in a show but not the X-Files...I thought Chris Carter ran out of steam writing the show the last few years, so many hanging threads picked up or left unresolved...the series conclusion was very disappointing, I think he either ran out of ideas or inspiration...

I also thought many of the best shows were outside the conspiracy thread , I could have seen Mulder and Scully continuing their interestes in that area, but outside the FBI, a la a modern day Nick and Nora Charles or something...

5. The fault was in the writing
You're quite right--Robert Patrick lent great intensity to the series(I'll take the visceral Patrick over the bored Duchovney of seasons 6-7 any day of the week). The fault lies with Carter.
