I think this is the best Olympic coverage in many years
I have to say, they're showing the sports. They have knowledgeable commentators. And most importantly, I have NOT seen any sob-stories about how a poor kid from Paramus overcame adolescent bed-wetting to become the world's second-greatest left-handed shot-putter. In fact, I've seen next to nothing in athlete profiles.

Also... I've seen a number of award ceremonies that featured anthems other than the Star Spangled Banner. In the past, non-American award ceremonies didn't get much play.

I'm impressed, especially after the fiasco on the opening night when Bob and Katie couldn't shut up if their lives depended on it.

1. C'mon Dook
We know what's impressing you.

"Hugh Jardon hurdles adolescent child-beating, communism, and clinical acne to win in Athens."

3. yeah
I wonder what happened. Did they finally get their 1 millionth complaint about the schlockiness?

At least they've done something right. For the first time in memory, I can watch the whole evening broadcast without yelling at the screen.

6. It wasn't NBC last time was it? I thought it was CBS.

7. It's been NBC for quite awhile now.
They bought very long-term broadcasting rights for 4 billion dollars in the mid 90's, I think.

8. I'm Not Glued To My Set... But I've Enjoyed The Coverage So Far
I'm not too partial to the teary-eyed and overly dramatic "back story" segments... but as far as the events themselves, it's pretty good.

9. EVERY time
I've tried to channel surf over, I get a profile. I have yet to catch any sporting events.

Really.
