Actually you paid for it so don't take any crap from them. Explain to them the "Customer/service provider relationship"-I did that once and got kicked out of a professors office (he asked me to leave).

I had a friend who skipped so much classes that he kind of emotionally separated himself from being a student. He said something along the lines of "I put in so little effort and show up so seldom that I no longer consider these poor grades to be a reflection of me." I told him that perhaps the fact that he was in that situation reflected poorly on him.
