?Mixture for oil painting on china or porcelein
:)Hello, I am trying to find out what oils make a better mix to paint on china.Mineral oil is too thick, baby oil is too thin, and Capaiba oil is like Karo syrup. Any help please.

"Many china artists mix their own oils of lavender or eucalyptus oils. Each individual artist tends to prefer a particular kind of mix that may dry more or less quickly and the characteristics of the oil mix determine how quickly the paint dries. A few companies sell special oils mixed especially for china painting. A very few china artists simply mix their powdered glazes with water. Oil is generally prefered because it adheres to a glossy glazed surface better. Water can be used as a paint base if the artist will be working on a matt surface."

"The most effective material for these techniques is oil paint diluted with a rich glazing medium. Before you begin painting, wipe the surface down carefully with alcohol to remove any traces of dirt or grease."
