So I go to the mall, and I find the Hallowe'en store just opened up. Man! Anyone else see one yet?

1. Yep.
My nephew already went to look for his costume. Granted, my sister's really busy and likes to get things done ahead of time, but it's crazy.

6. Didn't see one, but I did see
that the Uncle Sam masks were nearly sold out, and the * and the Gropenator masks were still sitting on the shevles... Republicans: They're bad for business!

4. I miss that stuff
When my kids were small I would do the haunted house stuff for them. Black lights, dry ice, etc. I think I got a bigger kick out of it than they did.

5. The Halloween stuff is crowding out...
the back to school stuff.

Any minute now, the Thanksgiving stuff will be fighting for shelf space with Santa.

8. You kiddin'? They got CHRISTMAS shit up at the craft stores here.
I find that I have totally gone to the other side in this whole issue. I REFUSE to get in the swing of any of these holidays until the week before -- no decoration, no cooking, nothing, until the holiday is quite close.

If I get Christmas presents, I get them at the after-Christmas sales and/or make my own during the year.

That way I can actually enjoy the holiday when it is supposed to be enjoyed, and not get caught up in the commercial frenzy. I recommend this to everyone.
