I really would hate to take the Kerry sign out of the window, but I can't afford to lose ANY business either.

I kinda figured that most Bush supporters where the "family values" crowd that wouldn't shop here anyway. But of course, a lot of these people party like hell on Sat. night and are all pious on Sun.

Y'all are probably right. And I may be losing business because of the Kerry sign. But we had a decent week last week (first week it was up), so I don't know.

The worst part of it is I know the guy will drive by in a few days and see that the sign is down and I don't want to give him the smug satisfaction.

I know Ohioans. I think odds are he was mindf*cking you. Especially the 'in this kind of place' remark -- if the guy made a remark like that, he didn't respect the business, right? Why would he say that if he frequented such establishments?

Oh, and for those who wondered ... Ron Jeremy may not look like much, but he's very ... well, shall we say ... gifted. At least from what I remember of his 'Pink TV' days. And he's also a pretty intelligent guy -- I bet he's fairly entertaining in person. I'd imagine a guy with his *ahem* attributes is pretty self-confident, and probably fun to be around.

I kinda thought he was just screwing with me too. And that remark kinda clinched it. He had never been in the store before. Of course, we've only been open 21 months now and we have new people coming in every week - I think that people didn't want to come in at first because they didn't know what to expect, thought we might be raided by the cops any minute, etc.

I just don't want to alienate anyone. Maybe it is just not good business. I'm going to leave it up for a while longer at least, and give it some good hard thought (no pun intended)

Speaking of good hard thought - Ron (the hedgehog) Jeremy by all accounts is a really nice guy. At least that's what I've heard.
