I'm just not feelin the love kids.

4. I had one yesterday ( 8/24)

This was probably the saddest most depressing birthday that I ever had . It went by so sloooooow and I felt so alone . None of my relatives said " Happy Birthday " but some of my friends did and I guess thats all that matters ... I should not have been surprised about my family , they only care about themelselves anyway ... Surprisingly Sunday was a good day but that gives me the incentive even more to get the heck out of this town . End of rant ...

It's sad and sobering when your own family doesn't acknowledge your birthday. A friend's BD was last week, and she didn't even get a card (let alone a call or visit or gift) from her own mom. Heartbreaking.

Its just another confirmation that this town sucks and it would be best if I left anyway lol . I mean come on , your family should be the main people to acknowledge your birthday , not mine . Then they wonder why I left the country for 3 long years ... argh .

Making judgements about people when you have no clue about them. For your information I *am* a very caring person. I devote most of my time to helping others. Not only do I work for a non-profit that reaches out to people with many different issues such as homelessness, substance abuse, family problems, etc, but I also spend quite a bit of my time outside of work volunteering for different causes.

It is amazing that you automatically assume that I am just feeling sorry for myself and don't give a damn about others. In reality, you are quite opposite from the truth.

Next time, why don't you ask for the facts before making such a harsh judgement.

My wife just came with a similar kind of feeling. After hearing her and reading your stories, I actually am very close to crying. I know those very same feelings of feeling unloved. For the time being, hugs to both of you (I already gave my wife a hug.)

Today is much better ... I have been going through a lot emotionally lately . And I really found out that I am much stronger than I thought . Actually I get really nervous whenever I have a sad period time becauseI fear that its my depression coming back and I don't want it to come back , y know . So yeah I am just fine :) " Life is what you make it ... everythings ALRIGHT ... " ( my favorite song by Talk Talk " Life's What You Make It " )

And I understand what Shanneee is experiencing as well . I give so much care to other people and it would be nice to get some care in return sometimes .

I know I am not the greatest person in the world, but I hate how much I let my surroundings affect me. If someone around me has a bad day, if work doesn't go well, if traffic is bad...it just bums me out.

Lately I'v just had that feeling like no one really understands or cares. Today is better, but you know how it is. Tomorrow could be worse.

Maybe I *am* just feeling sorry for myself, but still...
