Ever get an unidentified song stuck in your head?
I heard a fantastic old mellow rock classic two times in two days-- the trouble was, I couldn't remember the artist OR the title. I just knew that after hearing it twice in a row after so many years I had to figure it out.

Thank the Lord for the internet and for Google. I remembered what I thought was the hook, and Google found the lyrics AND artist after only two tries!

I'm now one song closer to having all my favorites in my possession. And I have a LOT of songs on hand...... :bounce:

The song, btw, was Dave Mason's "We Just Disagree".

(The last time that happened it turned out to be The Moody Blues "Your Wildest Dreams"...)

1. I went through that for years with a song.
Finally, a few years back, they offered the VH-1 Classic channel on the digital cable package. Within a week, I'd seen the video for it three times -- 'My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone)' by Chilliwack. I wasn't hearing lyrics, just that big three- or four-part vocal swell in the middle-eight. Impossible to look up, when you don't have any lyrics, I'm usually pretty good with that if I have any.

2. YES!
My best friend and I both remembered a fragment of a song from our (long ago) youth. Something about "I love to go a-wandering..." but then we got it mixed with something else.

Five years later, I was watching a taped Sopranos episode and THAT SONG came on at the end - "The Happy Wanderer". I taped it and sent it to my friend - what a relief to know that we weren't both nuts... at least, in that respect.......

4. Little Potato
I heard this song years ago on the radio and remembered pieces of it ever since. Don't know who sings it what the name is. If anyone knows Please tell me.

"Your my little potato
Your my little potato
Your my little potato
I dig you up from under the ground

Your my little potato
My little potato
My sweet potato
Something something something something...."

It has a very catchy toon--Guess that's why I remember it. Sure wasn't the lyric.

Any guesses anyone?????

Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 12:59 AM by Pithlet
After reading a love note from his love. I can never remember all the the lyrics, just the tune, and one little part. It always runs through my head thus:

Dah dah dah dah dah dah dah dah... T'was a love note for Don Gato!

Over and over.

6. I know that song
My daughter had it on a tape that she use to listen to when she was about 5 years old.

7. Yeah, we sang it in school
But, I've never heard it since. It's one of those obscure little childhood songs, I guess.

9. I had a dream where I wrote an opera in German.
I probably ripped the tune off though.
