ARRGH! My cable company sucks... I need advice
I have Comcast digital cable. They're usually good. But I bought a really nice HD television two years ago and I want to use it! They promised me in April that they would offer HD by mid-June. They didn't. I just called them and they can't explain why they said it would be available, nor could they say when it WOULD be available.

I wanna switch to Voom. Does anybody have any experience with it? Will I need an antenna for local? I live in an area surrounded by mountains and antennae just don't work.

I need a solution that offers HD AND local networks.

check them out.. They also offer the PVR option (like TIVO).. I love it.. never have to watch commercials...or know when stuff I like is on.. My PVR does it all for me and I watch whenever I like.:)

Local channels are free.. I now get about 8 PBS channels..

5. lol
I actually have a dish on my roof. I used to have DirecTV but they lost me when I could no longer get local channels.

I seriously live in a place that cannot receive signals via antenna. I *LOVED* direcTV but when I couldn't get the networks, it was unworkable.

7. Try DirectTV again.
We have it here and we have local channels. Might be your area dosen't, or that they did and don't, and might have them again. Who knows. I'm never going back to cable.

9. I would love to
but can I get local channels? I dropped them because they were forced to stop broadcasting the local networks. Actually, it wasn't "local" channels. It was regional.

Here's what I want: HD channels where available. Basic "cable" channels. A decent selection of "premium" cable channels. ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox, preferably all in HD where applicable.

My simple problem is that I live in a place where I can't receive network television via antenna. I need either cable or satellite to get it, but alas, I have cable and they provide all the channels I want but not in HD. And it seems none of the HD providers can give me all the channels I need.

This sucks.

14. Ah!
yeah, we don't get the regional channels either. We can get the local affiliates though. I know they still have space on the menu for the regionals, but I don't have them activated, or whatever. Might be worth looking in to it. What's the worst they can tell you?

8. Get the Dish with PVR
I got the dish after I blew a gasket with Charter (my cable company). Love it, in comparison to Charter less expensive, more channels and the PVR is great.
