on edit: do you not realize that having sports makes human beings make connections with other people? This is one of the best things that can happen to a person - especially with men. What do men talk about? Things that are fun. Sports are fun. When a father and son (and others - just an example) have nothing to talk about, what do they talk about? Sports. It is the connection that is always there, something that can always connect. Sports has saved a lot of father-son relationships.

Don't knock it until you understand what it is really used for.

12. I really do admire the athleticism

Watching Kerri Walsh dive from one side of the court to the other to make a save is pretty impressive. Sure, I get an erotic thrill from watching her athletic body in a skimpy outfit. But it's a lot more interesting watching her and Misty work hard at something they're good at than if they were just standing around modeling sports bras.

Lust and admiration are not mutually exclusive; on the contrary they are often linked, at least for me.
