Hey, DU Fantasy Footballers!
I don't suppose any of you could post who your teams are and how the draft went for all of you, could you?

I wanted to be in it this year, but was just too late. It would be neat to see how things turned out for all you, though.

And if someone could post the weekly standings? PLEASE? PLEASE? PRETTY PLEASE?

3. Oh, man, you scored the McNabb-TO combo!
I'd thought about going for that in another league that I'm in, but I was too skittish about injuries/bye week.

7. I'm kind of iffy at RB though.
IF Charlie Garner revives himself in Tampa..
IF Chris Brown can take over for Eddie George...
IF Ron Dayne is the Ron Dayne of Wisconsin...

But, if two of those guys work out, I'll look like a genius. :D

8. I'm the same way with my running backs
wasn't much left when I picked Emmitt Smith, but then I read about all the injuries in Arizona and thought maybe Emmitt might be picking up alot of that slack. Plus I'm going with a rookie on my starting line

If you don't take chances - you don't win fantasy football

11. I only gambled on Larry Fitzgerald as far as rookies.
But, with Boldin injured for a while, he should get some playing time. He was freaking AWESOME in college. I saw him TORCH my college team for 3 TDs. He made the defense look foolish. (Although, we also lost 77-0 last year too, so apparently defense wasn't our strong suit :eyes:)

9. I always draft at least two RBs first before I even think about QB
You can usually score at least a decent QB going into even the fourth round, but RBs go fast.

I think Charlie will pick it up again this year. He's got it in him. I got him off the waiver wire two years ago and he surprised everyone.

13. Normally, I agree, but Culpepper was the highest scoring QB last year.
He was still sitting there when I picked 8th, so I grabbed him.

20. Charlie Garner played at my High School...
(JEB Stuart in Falls Church, VA). I graduated about 15 years before he played but I returned to the neighborhood after the Army and college and wound up working the chain gang at Stuart games while Charlie played. He was a fucking beast in high school! Nobody could even lay a hand on him, much less bring him down.

4. Mayfield Morans:
I didn't fare too poorly for not being able to be at the draft last night: Priest Holmes, Hines Ward, Jeff Garcia, some decent picks overall. How's Seattle's defense?

6. Seattle's defense is ranked near the top
They really beefed up their secondary with cornerback Bobby Taylor.

Looks like you got a pretty solid team there.

10. Sweet!
So how did this work, since I wasn't there? Did somebody pick for me when my round was up, or did it happen automatically? Some of those picks are too good, if you ask me.

12. I think they went with the highest ranked player at whatever vacancy
there was. It was automatic from your pre-draft list.

19. It uses a pre-ranked list.
Yahoo has a default list, or you could've submitted your own.

When your turn comes up, Yahoo selects the highest-ranked remaining player on your list, as long as he fills a position of need. The downside is that Yahoo will probably draft your TE, K, and DEF before selecting a 3rd RB or a 2nd QB.

Still, the Yahoo autodraft is much, much better than it used to be.

24. I like Witten at TE
Let's face it; there aren't that many GREAT TEs this year. Witten has the talent, though, and he should definitely improve on his rookie year numbers, which weren't too bad in the last half of the season. (The question will be if Testaverde can get the ball to him!)

15. I had to be at Dulles during the draft, but
for not showing up I seem to have come out okay, especially with the Brooks-Horn combo. My RBs are A. Green and K. Barlow, so I'm in decent shape there. My only real problem is that my reserves in some cases suck (Bledsoe), and in others too concentrated (Lelie-Bell-Griffin, and I'm not even a Broncos fan).

I wouldn't have drafted what I have had I been able to participate, but I've had absentee drafts worse than this.

21. Well, take heart that one of your Denver RBs...
is going to be at least a 1,200 yard guy this year (probably Griffin). And you'll have Lelie to cover if him he gets injured.

If Brooks holds up, sounds to me like you came out pretty good.

Here's my roster.

QB: Green, Delhomme

WR: S. Moss, Chambers, R. Smith, Lloyd, Kennison
TE: Clark
K: Carney
DEF: St. Louis

We start 2 RBs, 2 WRs, and 1 RB/WR.

So, any thoughts?

22. That's a good team
Particularly good choices in Green, McAllister, Dillon, Santana, and even Chambers (it will be interesting to see what happens to the Miami offense without Ricky Williams). Some people like to hitch their wagons to a single superstar. I prefer to assemble a bunch of decent guys in several positions as you have here.

IMO he's the best all aroung RB in the NFL.

with Priest Holmes, Jamal Lewis and Eddie George making up the best of the league.

With the worst O-Line in the NFL. Imagine the numbers he'd put up with a decent line?
