1. I am just in it for the communion wafers and wine....kidding
:)
I once leaned athiest-agnostic if anyone wants to know, and I often was in agreement with them in philosophy class last year, and my own parents are sorta agnostic but I id myself as a Catholic.

2. No, I'm not smug about it. Just matter of fact.
I was raised Catholic. I quit the church 20 years ago. I haven't been back.

End of story.

Quite firm in my belief that I don't know what the heck's up.

10. I'll tell you one thing:
I've been to a parallel universe, I've seen time running backwards, I've played pool with planets, and I've given birth to twins, but I never thought in my entire life I'd taste an edible Pot Noodle.

11. What was it that happened to the guy who played Lister?
He was arrested for something kinky. Was he trying to pimp his girlfriend, or something? I can't recall.

13. Was a very devout Catholic

Like everywhere else in the world there is politics. Here are a few
of my bad experiences with the Catholic Faith.
Had gone to gradschool 1 thru 8 at my church. Took a very active
part.....choir....CCD teacher.....even worked in the Rel.Ed. dept.
When my daughter reached school age she was enrolled there as well.
Now I became...Lunch mother...party helper everything you could think
of.
Anyway I was spending more time at school than most people would.
A secretarial position opened in the school which i applied. A few
others applied as well.
Would'nt you know it.......a perfect stranger "not even Catholic"
got the job!!! Her daughter was attending school there and her
mother which got the job...taking catholicism.
Next came High School for my daughter......which i payed enourmous
ammounts for tuition. She joined the cheerleading squad...which
was even more money.
I soon again became....twice a week making submarine sandwichs which
was our "duty" being a cheerleader Mom....and selling a hundred
dollars worth of subs a week.
This went on for 3 years and i never missed a week.
Now it was my daughters Senior year.....she had worked hard and
mind you put three long years into cheerleading which i practically
devoted my life to because it was mandetory.
Her cheerleading adviser..........after many years decided to quit.
A new adviser was chosen......."Again not catholic"
Her daughter was automactically on the squad and tryouts had not even
started.
My daughter and another girl were both ousted from the squad to bring
on her daughters two friends.
So.......the politics got to be way to much for me!!!!!!!!! I havent
been back to church since and dont care to.
If thats what i have to do to get to heaven....count me out!!!
Since this time i have enjoyed being a "Heathen" and when i feel like
doing something charitable through my own means I do so.
I have found other ways to fulfill.......judgement upon me through
everyday life.

19. has anyone tallied all these sorts of things? tremendous insecurity
seems to exist around whether or not DUers should have religious beliefs.

My advice...get a belief. Embrace it, know its every curve and hollow, and don't worry about how every f'nbody here feels.

Religious beliefs are personal,as they should be.

As Jon Luke Picard would say, "Make it so."
