Liberal/Progressive Dating?

Ok, I am turning to my friends I have met on here and other blogs. I have just gone through a hard divorce. Wife wanted open marriage, I did not.

We got married young (19 and 20) and I have never really dated. So been married for nearly 7 years now. New to the dating world. I am discovering my work is a turn off to many woman not in our circles. I work in progressive organizing. I live my job. My job is my life and part of who I am. So where does one go to meet single, progressive minded women? Any online dating websites for progressive minded folks?

I found http://www.loveinwar.com but its not very active.

Anyone want to help a brother out! I am just wanting to have some great conversations and dating experiences with progressive minded women.

Or hang out at messageboards like this one. It's pretty active here, and you might meet someone you can really hit it off with.

Short of that, try meeting ladies at places where you would expect to find people of a similar mindset to be. The progressive reading sections of libraries and bookstores, liberal churches or spiritual groups.

Mind you, I married a right-leaning moderate, so I may not be the best person to advise on this. *l*

Yeah... that "open relationship" stuff is a cop-out. As for online dating sites... I wouldn't recommend them... and don't know of any progressive ones (not that I know any straight ones either :)).

The progressive fuck social norm's side of me wants to support "open marriages." I mean in theory, why limit your love and intimacy to only one person. The more we invest in love and intimacy with others, the more we harnest compassion in to peace right...

well yeah in theory... untill it became practice. It hurts like hell.

Now I have discovered I am very progressive, but believe in monogomy. I guess its a lesson I learned at one hell of a painful journey.
