Entertainment Tonight...300 pound woman wants to gain weight
and aims to weigh at least 500 pounds. This is truly "reality" TV gone amok. I recall a thread a week or so ago where people talked about those who like to feed women so they get as large as possible.

Would the same VH1 give an anorexic who wanted to get as thin as possible air time? I think not. I would consider that as irresponsible as I consider this. Fat people serve as the butt of jokes and I am sure people will laugh at this woman, who clearly needs help and say that all fat people are this way or that.

NICKI ROBERTS is the goddess in question on Wednesday night's show. Over the past year, she has doubled her weight and is now at 363.5 pounds, with her goal weight between 500-600 pounds.

Nicki explains that she was envious after seeing confident, plus-sized women, so she has made it her mission to become as big as possible. Despite doctor's warnings, the goddess devours 14,000 calories a day. "It wouldn't be uncommon for me to get excited if I split my pants or a button pops off," she reveals. Nicki and her husband even plan on moving to a larger house to accommodate all the space required to put her cookies, bags of chips, and other high calorie foods.

2. The "Stalking Cat" guy is pretty disturbing, too.
"Another of VH1's 'obsessed' is Cat Man, a guy who believes his ancestors are cats, and his ultimate goal is to look as similiar to a tiger as possible. He has been transforming into his favorite feline for 20 years, and has spent over $200,000 in body modification surgeries, including eyebrow implants, extensive tattoos, reshaping his ears, a cleft lip, and a relocated septum."

He spent $200,000 to make himself deformed! Where the hell did he get all that money?!? Probably not from normal well-paying gainful employment, once it got past a certain stage. This guy will not be able to function as a normal person -- if he ever could to begin with.

That shit is truly disturbing. I'm not into those kind of freak shows.

4. That's really messed up.
I'm going to have surgery tomorrow to prevent me from gaining more weight and help me lose weight. This woman is trying to gain it... why? Stupid bitch. I guarantee once she gains all that weight she won't be so eager to gain more, she won't have the energy to do a damn thing. Someone should have stepped in and DONE something to stop this woman from making a huge mistake, she obviously isn't right in the head.

Hope you recover soon.

Are you getting one of those gastric bypass dealy-bopps??

Unfortunately, I'm only 35-40 lbs. overweight, so I don't qualify for any surgery. I just have to lose it the old-fashioned hard way.:(

I'm not exactly sure what a "dealy-bopps" is, so heh... I guess not. :P

Yeah, I know how hard it is to lose weight through dieting. My *entire* family (Mother, Father, and Sister) are over weight. My Father and I are the most over weight, and I am worse than he is although he has more health problems than me. (As well as my mother.) Both my Patients have Type Two Diabetes and my sister and I have a 99% chance of getting it as well if we don't lose weight. Like you, my sister doesn't qualify for the surgery, but she's on a strict diet and has a little one and a half year old to keep up with plus goes to the gym at least twice a week. Still, for her, she's not losing all that much.

This is a last resort for me. If things go good for me my Dad will likely have the surgery as well. (As will my Aunt, and one of my Aunt's friends.) I've been put forward as the official test subject. I feel like Mikie from those old Life Cereal Commercials. :P But I'm doing it for myself, not them, but if they gain some benefit from my experiences then I'm glad.

EDIT-
I should also say that this woman, the woman who wants to gain weight, has no idea what she is getting into. I've never met a very overweight person who was truly happy with themselves, although I'm sure there might be some out there who are in denial or something. Society treats Overweight people horribly, and we are stigmatized endlessly as being lazy people with no self-control who's only desire in the world is to stuff our face. On top of that there are the medical problems, and just going out to places... *shrugs* I think the woman has lost her mind and should seek help immediately. It's very easy to gain weight, but it is a million times harder to lose it.

7. Maybe someone should put her in touch with
the family of the woman who was so heavy that she eventually melded with her couch and died in the process of being separated from it. Unhealthy and self-destructive - she needs to go into therapy to find out why.

Really, really weird. Like as in - does she have a mental illness? -weird.

Way to buck the trend, though.
