I have felt the same way you are feeling. I'm drunk too cuz it does stop the pain. And when someone takes their own life I think ...he made it. But, I have been blessed with hope. For some reason no matter who beats me down, no matter how often I'm fooled by some slick line, I always have hope. On one hand it is bad cuz I would have given up long ago, but on the other hand I'm sort of proud of myself for getting up and facing another day. You be strong tonight. Get drunk, sleep it off. Me and you will get up and be strong tomorrow, cuz we are strong people.

and I know this isn't what you want to hear, but --

Alcohol = depression.

I would suggest (based on my own experience) finding a shrink of some kind, getting some antidepressants, and try getting a leg up on the situation and try as best you can to not drink.

You might be amazed how much drinking contributes to it. Not WHILE you're drinking, but the day after, and the day after that even. It just sorta makes you want to drink AGAIN, and then you're in the rut.

I know it's difficult. Took me years.

Skittles, I've been there. And I'm not just saying that. I had shock treatments for SEVERE depression. I still struggle, but have finally come upon a medication that works for me, at least a little. I used to have zero good days. Now I have up to three or four good days a week. Sometimes fewer, but still, that's better than nothing.

41. My life has been similar to that ...

I was not physically abused ( ok I got whippings ) but I was emotionally and psychologically abused as a child ... And it drove me to depression which started around age 11 and led me to a near physical and mental breakdown at the age 18 just as I had everything set for me while in college . I can tell you that I do have a brick wall built around me still and even though it was hard to get over my pain , I had to get over it , because I really wanted to LIVE . I meet new people and let them into my life , I take my wall down . Some tear me up and some do not . But thats the chance we take . I know for sure one day I will meet the one ... and I know that it will happen at the right time , when its supposed to happen . I had to leave everything in the USA behind , I flew out of the country and lived in Germany for 3 years and I got my life and my MIND back . It was so hard I know to forget the pain and I do not know how to relate to the pain of not being able to have children . My thoughts are with you and I am sending a HUG of a thousands warmths your way :hug:

I understand about drinking and its relationship to depression, but ever since I was 3 years old people have been giving me beer, wine, etc. to shut me up, keep me quiet, keep me out of the way.
