I got a new computer today and I'm getting a new computer tomorrow
I phoned the help desk and told them I wanted another 256 Mb of RAM because my desktop computer was unusable.

They told me no.

Then they sent me a brand new computer - four times as fast, double the RAM and hard drive space and half the size of my old one.

My wife's computer blew its motherboard and I was building her a new computer with the intention of cannibalizing the old CPU, but it turns out you can't get a motherboard to support her old CPU so I'm giving her my old computer and buying myself a new CPU to go with the motherboard. I'll make a linux box out of the leftover stuff.

3. Wash your mouth out with soap
I build my own computers.

I'm replacing my wife's IBM. Absolutely unfuckingbelievable. I was hoping to cannibalize it for parts.

  • Proprietary power supply.
  • Proprietary HD controller.
  • Proprietary RAM totally unusable on any other motherboard.
  • Proprietary cabling.

Kerist I can't even use most of the screws.
